The Icelandic volcanic ash blocked the 10th anniversary of the World's Children's Prize. Cancelled flights meant that the children who were meant to perform and lead the ceremony at Stockholm's City Hall could not come to Sweden. The prize for the Decade Child Right's Heroes, awarded to Graça Machel and Nelson Mandela, will instead be presented on 1 September 2010. They were elected by 7.1 million children in the Global Vote.
